Bug Description
sudo apt install synapse
1. open menu, run synapse
2. search for an application, for example 'google'
3. when trying to launch the following message is displayed:
Google Chrome cannot be run as root.
Please start Google Chrome as a normal user. To run as root, you must specify an alternative -user-date-dir for storage of profile information
Attempted to rectify:
sudo apt purge synapse*
the reinstalled.
If I try to launch terminal, no message appears and app does not launch.
Xubuntu 16.04
