Bug Description

That's the default setting, and although I can change it, why is it like this?
I prefer to open .xml files in scratch, because it's faster to open and is editable.

The problem here is that .xml AND .xhtml are the SAME mimetype (application/xhtml+xml). Do we still want to change it?

Well should this be the case? From what I've read .xhtml is a subset of .xml, kind of like .svg is a subset of .xml.
How would you go about splitting it, and would that even be possible? I've never looked for any mimetype spec.

could you set it so that all xml is sent to a handler and the handler checks what type of xml it is and opens correct program?
