http://area51.stackexchange.com cannot be added to StackApplet

I'm not certain this qualifies as a bug. Area51 does not operate on the same general platform as other sites, such as StackOverflow, AskUbuntu, Unix & Linux, and others.

From what I can tell, compatibility with Area51 was intentionally left out of the program.

Actually, Area51 *can* be added to StackApplet - but not in the way you might think. Although Area51 itself has no API (and therefore is not supported in StackApplet), the Area51 discussion zone does provide an API.

Unfortunately StackApplet does not include the Area51 Discussion zone in the list of sites. You will have to manually add it by editing the configuration file in ~/.stackapplet/config. Therefore I will consider fixing this in a future version of StackApplet.
