Bug Description
Marking as private as this was reported by Microsoft VS Code, who have not publicly announced their snap.
The bold-facing of "version string" and "architecture" in the attached screenshot leaves the impression that the format of the .snap filename must exactly match how it is presented on this page. That is, you must include the architecture and version in the filename.
This is not required by any of the tools that process .snap files; that comes from the meta/snap.yml file inside the .snap.
