Bug Description

I am running the beta channel version of snap-store in xUbuntu 20.04.
Reports as "Ubuntu Software Version 3.36.1".

Running from terminal yields that:

"Gtk Failed to load module "appmenu-gtk-module""

appmenu-gtk-module-common is installed.

appmenu-gtk2-module is installed.

appmenu-gtk3-module is installed.

snap-store does not fall back to Adwaita.

Instead, snap-store loads as flat black with flat-black buttons,
no clear window boundary, and stark white text.

Is there a config file somewhere that I can point snap-store to the appmenu-gtk-module-common libraries?

Thanks.

I don't think this is related to appmenu-gtk-module. I just tested snap-store revision 467 from the beta channel and it all looks fine to me. What gtk theme are you using?

I remember that it was a gtk3 theme. I was using Pocillo-dark-slim.

I had a lonely thread running on this that showed my progress on the Ubuntu forums here:
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2444536

Unfortunately for the bug (fortunately for me), I fell into a hardware upgrade
and did a system reinstall and migration. I am now using "Ambiant-MATE-Dark" on xubuntu 20.04
with snap-store stable.

The theme works as intended, and, everything is legible.

Sadly, this means I am no longer able to replicate this bug on my system.
