snap-store does not display time in correct format

What I do:
I am running Ubuntu 20.04 and have selected a locale definition with 24 hours time format.
I open snap-store and select the "updates" tab.
At the bottom of that page it shows "Last checked:" and date or time of the last check.

What I expect:
I expect that the date/time of the last check is shown in a format in line with the locale that I selected (i.e. in 24 hours format).

What happens instead:
The date/time of the last check is shown in a 12 hours am/pm format.
