Lags while scanning recent files on a remote filesystem

To duplicate populate your recently-used file with many files on a remote file system. Perhaps via a bunch of images, and use eog to skim through them.

Then delete them and open shutter.

Shutter will take a while scanning through each one to recognize that it's missing.

sudo strace -p $(pgrep shutter)

is helpful to monitor this.
