Can't install SchoolTool on desktop

Bug Description
Response to input "$ sudo service schooltool status" is "schooltool unrecognized service"
Previous attempts at installing schooltool updates rendered the following:

What can I do to install SchoolTool
It does not look like the 2.8 repositories were actually added, I don't know why. You can probably get rid of the error messages when you do apt-get update by ejecting the install disk. I would also try 'sudo apt-get install python-pastescript" and see what the (likely) error message is.
