For some reason, I installed sbackup-plugins-fuse. I just removed it and now I get a different error in the log:
INFO: Initializing GIO File Access Manager.
ERROR: Error in `_do_mount`: Location is not mountable [ERROR_NOT_MOUNTED - File isn't mounted.]

The Set remote target config window still gives the same error.

As user, from the Set remote target winding I can connect with no problems to the same destination.
So I guess that error *was* relevant.
