Repeated pickup attempts despite 52-slot inventory limit

saiph is not stressed but has exhausted her 52-slot inventory limit. When confronted with an item she would like to have, she attempts to pick it up (this is unsuccessful with the "knapsack cannot accommodate any more items" message). At this point, she neither attempts to reduce the number of items so she can pick up more, nor ceases attempting to pick it up so she can do something else. In the next action she repeats the attempt. During this "loop" she does not seem to respond to hostile monsters attacking her, which usually kills her.
