rhythmbox stops playing after some time

thank you for your bug report, could you run rhythmbox --debug and see if there is any error when getting the issue?

Also rhythmbox seems to always stop at the end of a track and for the same album it doesn't always stop at the same track.
I've attached the last lines of the output of rhythmbox --debug below.
I think the revelant line is:
"(13:40:14) [0x873d408] [stop_sink] rb-player-gst-xfade.c:2923: stopping sink"

By any progress you mean if there's a fix somewhere? well no, but you can try to ping the upstream maintainers about it.

I've been having this too. The effect seems to be that the music stops playing.

The console says:
(rhythmbox:6315): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_str_has_prefix: assertion `str != NULL' failed

when this happens.

I'm experiencing this as well, with "GLib-CRITICAL **: g_str_has_prefix: assertion `str != NULL' failed" on the terminal.

Exactly the same happens to me on ubuntu 11.10 oneiric

Same for me on Ubuntu 12.04

Same on Ubuntu 13.04

Having the same bug on Xubuntu 14.04

Same for me on Ubuntu 15.10

Same for me on Ubuntu 17.10

Please do update the upstream bug at
