Bug Description

I can't use alternative protocols and cause them to be links, like irc://x.y.z/channel for an IRC channel. This would be a desirable feature for me.

Thanks for your report! I started working on this. Do you want those links to be opened by the browser or by your system (on linux this would be xdg-open)?

Changed in rednotebook:
assignee: nobody → Jendrik Seipp (jendrikseipp)
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → In Progress

I actually meant any protocol should be linked to, preferably piped through the browser (though it would be even better if it opened the target application itself).
So for instance you should be able to open magnet links for BitTorrent... torrents, and so on, all straight from RedNotebook. A modern browser covers all of this functionality, so I guess it would be easier for you to implement, but perhaps less pretty for the user.

I use RedNotebook in Linux, but I introduced the application to a couple of my friends too who use the PortableApps.com suite (it's an essential for any workplace), which is Windows-only.

Thanks for the *amazingly* quick update! I tend to wait till all bugs are ironed out though (I don't use beta software in general), so I guess I'll need to hold on till the next release. Thanks again.

On a related note, I would welcome clickable links for chrome bookmarks e.g. chrome://bookmarks/#6562 - I will lodge this as a separate feature request but feel free to merge.
