Bug Description

The outline sidebar should include the page number a given bookmark points to. If the chapter title is too long to display both the title and the page number the title should be truncated.

I have added a screenshot of the outline view in evince.

I will probably say this till I die: qpdfview does not intend to duplicate Evince. So instead of uploading screenshots, just explain your suggestion. Thanks.

Since this since sounds like a useful addition in any case, I implemented this in the future branch referenced in this report which will be merged into trunk in about two weeks.

Hi Aristotelis, it is great that you like qpdfview and that you want to participate by sharing your ideas. However, please consider two things:
1. The tone of your feature request seems somewhat rough if you say "The program _should_ behave like that." It would be great if you could spend some effort on a friendly tone, like "I would like the program to behave like that. I would be pleased if you would consider such a change when you have time."
2. Please do not forget, that this is a one man hobby project run almost solely by Adam. The current frequency of feature requests on the bug tracker is quite stressful, so it would be really great if you would try to not ask for too many features at a time.
3. qpdfview is not evince. It has a very different scope, two of the most important aims being minimal dependencies and small size of the program itself. It would be helpful if you think about these aims before requesting features.

This does not only apply to this bug report. Please do not take this personally or feel offended. It would help a lot if you think about these points in the future.

I am sorry if I came across as bossy. This was absolutely not my intent. I tried to be succinct in my report and inadvertently left courtesy at the door. I understand the effort and time involved in developing and maintaining a hobby project, all the more so of course if only one or two people share the workload. Dedicated developers and contributors like you are what make Linux such a wonderful platform.

Adam, thank you for considering my feature request. The screenshot was meant more as a replacement for a mockup than a request to replace Evince's behaviour. I understand that Qpdfview and Evince have different scopes and truly appreciate the harmonic amalgamation of lightweightedness and featurefulness your program represents.

I am glad you decided to implement this functionality despite the lacking feature request.
