qconfig: Cannot add external diff viewers

Bug Description

If I use qconfig to add a new external diff tool and then click ok when I run qconfig again the external diff viewer is no longer listed.

I think what is happening is that you have to click of the cell for it to record the new value. Please could you confirm this.

If this is the case, we don need to fix this.

Another problem is that you can't navigate between the cells with the keyboard.

I tried clicking off the cell before hitting ok but this makes no difference - it's still not possible to add an external diff program.

As a work around, you can add it by manually editing qbzr.conf

e.g.

[EXTDIFF]
Meld = meld

I'm struggling to get an external diff tool configured via qconfig as well. I select "Add" and it gives me a cell for entering a name (e.g. Meld) but I can't edit the command. Even if I could, there's no information on what to type in there w.r.t. placeholder symbols, etc.

This is on Ubuntu 9.04 using qbzr rev 797.

Ian, you need to double click on the place where diff tool path is supposed to be entered. This works for me on Windows. Will be nice to have standard file/program selector there though.

This bug marked as duplicate of meta-bug #489915, because there is needs to seriously improve our internal model.
