feature request - simplenote syncing

I would very much like the ability to use PyRoom as an offline-capable front-end for a Simplenote (http://simplenoteapp.com) account.

I suggest that the option be implemented such that a particular folder of plain-text notes can be set to sync with Simplenote, but editing files outside that folder will behave as normal.

As a reference point for syncing behavior, see Notational Velocity (an opensource OS X application). I am willing to assist implementing this feature, however I am a Python n00b. ;-)
