Bug Description
Plover cannot be installed on Ubuntu 9.10: the lockfile module fails.
The most simple way to fix the problem for me was:
1) remove this version of the python-lockfile with apt-get and then
2) manually install version 0.9 of the lockfile.

I do understand that nobody cares about old software, but the point is: Plover should fail with some sensible error message, not with some trash from guts of some python scripts.
