Bug Description

For lp:1193215 and other similar issues, it would be better if
Xtrabackup support progress indicators. In lp:1193215 the
implementation will be based on du and pv but it won't be
accurate.

Seems like MEB 3.8.2 has added it now:

I see that https://bugs.launchpad.net/percona-xtrabackup/+bug/1079336 exists, however, that deals with part of that (or only innodb part), it would be better if progress is measured at streaming level.

It is currently impossible to measure it at the streaming level, because stream is generated by different "sources": either by the xtrabackup binary, or by innobackupex via multiple invokations of tar/xbstream.
