Bug Description
The backup script could be enhanced to use GPG to encrypt backup files. This would allow backups to be transported and stored with potentially untrusted parties (e.g., an external data storage service). This would also help protect stolen backup tapes/drives/discs. The encryption functionality could be turned on or off by the presence of a public key file in a certain location on the OpenVista Server machine.

The next release of GT.M will have encrypted databases and backups will be encrypted as well.
