Navigation is too easily lost

Bug Description
When the user hits the back button, it should not kill the current journey. The user expects it to be there when they come back. Instead, a button to "Clear Directions" would be better.
Either: In the directions activivity, have a button to "clear directions"
Or: When a user is currently navigating, have an option to "Clear Route" instead of the directions button.
Or things that other people might think of.

I saw in the last releases that the 'clear directions' button is here, so the bug status is in progress?
I also saw that in the last Google Maps, when you clic on the back button there's a popup asking to leave the navigation mode or not. It could be an interesting option to use because our navigation is still lost with the back button.
