Add 'first_publish_date' to covers carousel

Bug Description

Would like to include a work's first published date in the ALT tag (and TITLE tag) for work covers displayed in the carousel on Subjects. I tried to insert cover.first_publish_date but that string is "undefined" (as I suspected it would be, but it was worth a shot)

I believe this may require some input from Anand to insert the work's first_publish_date or first_publish_year for the carousel to find. I tried simply inserting the field but it always comes up empty.
