Bug Description

Nexus7 / Raring 13.04

After installing LibreOffice Writer / Impress on the Nexus7. I can't get Onboard to launch automatically when tapping in the middle of the page to type any sort of text. You need to select the Onboard Indicator -> Show Onboard and force onboard to appear.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Uninstall libreoffice-gtk package if you have it.
2. Launch Writer, Terminal, and Nautilus.
3. Switch to Nautilus window, and observe that Onboard hides.
4. Switch to Terminal window, and observe that Onboard appears.
5. Switch to Writer window, and observe that Onboard hides.

Expected behavior: Switching to Writer window should make Onboard appear.

This seems to be a common problem across all of the LibreOffice products. Writer / Impress / etc.

Try installing libreoffice-gtk, this seems to solve it here. This package is installed by the libreoffice meta package, but apparently not when just selecting the individual applications.

Well, it does something, but there's a lot of erratic behavior. I remember Writer doing well some time ago, now it sends a de-focus event after typing just one character and Onboard hides. Calc seems to do worse. I'll have a look at their bug tracker.

Hmmmmm, libreoffice-gtk package seems to be erratic, I can't quite pin down how it impacts the behavior. I can definitely confirm experiencing this bug in Writer before I installed libreoffice-gtk, but then after installing libreoffice-gtk it sometimes still did this bug and sometimes didn't. Very odd.
