Bug Description
Ara and John Lea talked about this at the Prague sprint, and John caught me up a little on it at the Isle of Man sprint. Essentially, there is some redundancy, overlap, double-maintenance, etc., here, and it would be nice to coordinate our efforts to minimize that and work more closely together in the interest of quality.

John, was any progress ever made on this? What are the blockers? I'd like to have them identified somewhere, at the very least for reference... hopefully as something to plan on implementing :-)
