On T14 I used 5.13.0-1009.10 oem kernel and nvidia 470.57.02-0ubuntu0.20.04.1.
I captured the log when doing suspend and resume.

On P15v, I used 5.8.0-44-generic kernel and nvidia 450.102.04-0ubuntu0.20.04.1.
I could also reproduce this issue.

I wonder if this is related to bug 1923335. That also has an issue with the screen flashing back on when it should be off.

@Daniel,

 Thanks for your feedback, I checked bug 1923335, the description is similar, but it's not a I+N platform, and from my side, when I switch to Power Saving Mode to use Intel, I could not reproduce this issue. Thanks.

It's likely that "I+N" is not relevant. Only the Intel GPU is used to draw the shell and login screen.

In case it is relevant:

Please try uninstalling all Nvidia drivers (so you're left with none but nouveau in 'lspci -k') and reboot. Does the problem still happen?

Also is there an option to disable the discrete GPU in the BIOS? What happens if you disable it?

Changed in mutter (Ubuntu):

When I switch to intel mode with 'prime-select intel' it will won't load nvidia module, and this issue couldn't be reproduced.

And on T14 there are no option to disable the discrete GPU.
