tried nvidia-graphics-drivers-455 in focal which can fix this issue, I didn't observe any regression.

tried nvidia-graphics-drivers-455 in groovy which can fix this issue, I didn't observe any regression.

tried nvidia-graphics-drivers-455 in bionic which can fix this issue, I didn't observe any regression.

We found that running `prime-select intel` on a machine without an integrated GPU results in the machine failing to boot. This could be considered user error, but it could also be considered a regression, because we didn't observe this behavior with driver version 455.38.

The reason why "prime-select intel" works on non-hybrid system does not depend on the driver. It has been missing a relevant check since we added support for AMD integrated cards.

The verification of the Stable Release Update for nvidia-graphics-drivers-455 has completed successfully and the package is now being released to -updates. Subsequently, the Ubuntu Stable Release Updates Team is being unsubscribed and will not receive messages about this bug report. In the event that you encounter a regression using the package from -updates please report a new bug using ubuntu-bug and tag the bug report regression-update so we can easily find any regressions.
