Bug Description

NCP test releases have had issues with virtualization, specially Virtualbox. NCP2 should work on both of these, or we lose potential users.

Mark as Fix released when NCP2 release version works on both.

I can report that I have tired the above configuration (in addition to many other) and it still doesn't work. The alpha versions were working fine under a configuration with all options enabled (including PAE VT-x (with nested paging) 3D) or at least the system booted fine.

Actually the installer on both Beta 1 and Beta 2 loads but the systems hangs when it starts the installation process.
On my system Beta 1 stops always when the progress bar reaches 3%, while Beta 2 never lifts of 0%.

I have also checked the log screen, but there is nothing out of the ordinary there.

My host system is WinXP 32bit with latest version of VirtualBox (2.1.4)

I have OSX on an alu macbook with latest 2.1.4 vbox.

I remember having problems getting the installer to boot (it hangs after loading) if I have the template set to opensolaris 64 bit.

It is possible to set the machine to 32 bit solaris (and still have all PAE, VT etc options turned on) and let the install finish and the switch to opensolaris 64 bit in the machine definition.

The installer feels very slow with little to no indicated activity at times.
