Bug Description

Hi,

I tried to answer this guy's question ( https://answers.launchpad.net/netbook-remix/+question/73274 ) about changing the an icon in the menu. I expected this to be easily done from Preferences > Main Menu. The problem is that neither disabling the Favorites menu nor changing its icon work.

I don't think there's a straightforward way to do this at the time being.

There appears to be a different but related problem in Karmic as the favourites don't appear in Main Menu. The URI entries really need an option to change the icon. Using the favicon.ico from the website would be a good start though except that it might not scale up that well.

Similar sounding problem in 10.04 when I change the icon in the menu editor it doesn't do anythig to the icon used in favorites.

My research shows that the problem is that the .desktop files created for the favorites menu ( in ~/.local/share/applications) ONLY set the Icon[en-us]=/path/of/my/new/icon it does NOT however also edit the Icon=/path/to/old/icon

Hope that someone fixes this, because it really looks UGLY (especially when you make prism apps, and all it shows up as the launcher icon, YUCK)

I can confirm what hendrixski is saying, and also that changing the "Icon" field manually in the .desktop files changes the icons correctly. It looks like that's a pretty straight forward solution to me; either make the favorites list use the correct localized Icon, or have the Menu Editor properly edit the default icon.
