Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
Currently the right-click menu for a USB Drive (and other external drives) has a vast number of options (See screenshot).
- What is the difference between "Open" and "Browse Folder"
- What does "Open with Autorun Prompt" mean? I know, but do most people?
- What does "Paste Into Folder" mean?
- What does "Make Link" mean?
- Stretch Icon? Restore Icon's Original Size? Is that really useful enough to clutter up the menu?
- What is the difference between Unmount, Eject, and Safely Remove Drive? I'm fairly tech-literate, and I have no idea.
The menu should look more like this (but probably not exactly like this):
Open
---
Cut
Copy
Paste
---
Rename
Copy To >
Move To >
---
Move to Trash
---
Format
Compress
---
Eject
---

I completely agree. ... What also bothers me is how much of the menu is grayed out/unclickable. For example, the 'Move to Trash' option really shouldn't be there. It just takes up space without being functional.
Also, regarding the eject/unmount/ safely remove issue, it's been reported at https:/ /bugzilla. gnome.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 598690 -- hope it gets fixed soon.
