Bug Description
It would be nice if, when the Sound API is set to None, if Mixxx could release the sound device so that, say, videos could be played in a web browser.
It would also be nice if this could be toggled via a menu item, or something similarly more easy to access than having to go into the preferences dialog.
(I'd like to watch some DJ tutorials whilst keeping Mixxx open)

Which OS are you using?
I guess Linux. Try to start Mixxx from the command line. You can than use the pulse ALSA so pulse loopback device.
This allows you to play with Mixxx while watching YouTube videos.
