This is probably a combination of the new AutoDJ changes in 1.11.0 and the fact that we do not change the replay-gain of a playing track anymore (Bug #840860). In the event the track is unanalyzed, it would be good if AutoDJ could load it with plenty of time for it to get analyzed.

Auto DJ load the track as soon as possible to have the gain calculation ready in nearly all cases.
If you have a very short track the issue described by RJ is possible in rare cases.

I will set this bug to won't fix because I do not have suitable solution for it.

Please feel free to reopen it, if the issue is one of a different kind.

Hm, in that case I wonder why Jim's track wasn't gain calculated in time.
Jim, does this happen for all tracks or just some?

Hi,

Seems to be tracks that have not been anaylised / played before and is
definaltley more noticeable if you are bringing in a more recent
recording following say a recoding made in the 80's / 90's! It will be
louder for the first 2 seconds of play, then adjust down to match the
previous level.

Hope that helps.

Jim.

Hi Daniel,

I'm using 1.10.0

I'm VERY new to linux and Mixxx, previously Windows XP and Virtual DJ,
so I'm not sure what you're asking me to do or how?

Could you do an "Idiot's guide"?

Thanks, Jim.

Hi Jim -- Daniel is asking you to try out our latest version. Since you're
on Linux Mint, you can download our Ubuntu/Debian packages in the link
Daniel provided in his last post.

For 64-bit:
http://builds.mixxx.org/builds/release-1.11.x/r3859/mixxx_1.11.0-bzr3859_precise_amd64.deb

For 32-bit:
http://builds.mixxx.org/builds/release-1.11.x/r3859/mixxx_1.11.0-bzr3859_precise_i386.deb

You should be able to download these and just double-click them to install
them.
