mousewheel incorrectly changes tab in gmail

Bug Description
Normal behaviour: when hovering the tabs, using the mousewheel make the focus change to the previous or next tab. When not over a tab, this is prevented.
Except for at least one website: when reading a long email in gmail, scrolling up at the beginning of the document or down at the end of it changes the focus to the previous or next tab. Scrollbars in gmail appear just but just for the email, not for the webpage and they look different than the standard ones.
edit I'm using elementary OS 0.2, noticed this in private navigation mode.
