Bug Description
Before the ugrade to Hardy, updates where listed by Synaptic with the corresponding package versions:
ffmpeg - from ffmpeg-1.1.1 to ffmpeg-1.1.2
Now, after the upgrade, there is no way to see this. The description for the changes is missing for Medibuntu packages, and the description of the package does not include its version.
So there's no way for us to:
* know the version of the package we're updating to
* go elsewhere and check for issues with the new version before updating
See attached screenshot of Synaptic.

Hi,
At the beginning of the bug report, you spoke of Synaptic, but the screenshot seems to be from update-manager (Synaptic lists the package versions, update-manager doesn't iirc).
The description of the package doesn't include its version because it doesn't actually "describe" the package, and it's no use for someone who wants to know what the package installs.
The changelogs are available at http:// www.medibuntu. org/changelogs/ www.medibuntu. org/changelogs/ pool/free/ f/ffmpeg/ current. hardy/changelog
For ffmpeg, it's http://
Anyway, I agree that the changelogs aren't very visible (and that we should set up a front-end like packages. ubuntu. com).
