Bug Description

Hi there,

I just added Google Calendar to Calendar in elementary OS Freya. But when I tried to add new event, it always go to next day of the actual date of event. For example, I created event on 13 April 2015, but when finished, it went to 14 April 2015.

When I check in Google Calendar, actually it's correct, on 13 April 2015, but what I saw in Calendar is different.

I think this is a bug of Calendar system in Freya.

Thanks
Robert

Hi there. I am having the exact same issue on Freya 0.3.2. The events are placed on the next day instead of the correct one as they are in Google Calendar.

I am also having the same issue in Windows 10's built in Calendar app too, so this issue is not limited to Maya.

Does this issue only exist with Google calendars?

According to georks, on bug #1620290 , the issue also happens with CalDav on OwnCloud

I am on elementary OS 0.4 Loki running Maya 0.4.0.2

I set up a CalDAV synchronization with my mail account (GMX) which works fine in both directions. However, events pulled from the server show up a day later in the side panel. Events created in Maya never show up in the side panel at all. I have seen this problem with time-restricted events, but haven't tested it with all-day events as in bug #1620290.

Oh, but the wingpanel integration of the calendar shows the events on the right date.

I have the same bug with the owncloud 9.1. The problem does not appear only when creating an event in maya, but also when you create an event in owncloud. In this instance the event is moved one day back instead of one day forward.

The problem also limits the ability to move events from one day to another. Since they always leap one day back.

I guessed the problem is with 2016 being a leap year, I have also created an event before February 29th but the problem persists even before the leap day.

I am inclined to think that this is "just" a display issue?

It happens to all calendars and events for me: full day and time-limited, repeating and whatnnot: It shows a day late in the sidebar and on the correct date in the wingpanel widget.

I am testing on google, owncloud and an imported web-calendar.

My testing results are:
-----------------------
For Google calendar:

1) Action: Create event on a day X (specific time)
    Result:
Event shows in the table on day X -> Ok
Event shows in the sidebar on day X+1 -> Error

4) Action: Create event on a day X, (full day)
    Result:
Event shows in the table on day X-1 -> Error
Event shows in the sidebar on day X -> Ok

For local calendar:

3) Action: Create event on a day X (specific time)
    Result:
Event shows in the table on day X -> Ok
Event doesn't show in the sidebar at all -> Error

4) Action: Create event on a day X, (full day)
    Result:
Event shows in the table on day X-1 -> Error
Event shows in the sidebar on day X -> Ok

This bug should have High importance.

Noticing same issue on my iMac, using google calendar.
My gut tells me start of week (sun/mon) may have something to do with it, the offset is one day and it's the only calendar that I use that (visually) starts on Sunday instead of Monday. If all days shift back one day (e.g. start of week monday instead of sunday) this would fix.
Feel like the system is technically aware of this, but visually is not compensated for this as the actual dates are correct as is the sync to google.
