Bug Description

I have a 2 CD compilation, "Journey into Paradise, the Larry Levan Story".

I am trying to rip both CDs.

The first one went fine - at first querying MusicBrainz didn't find a match, so I used Max's "Submit Disc ID" feature. I then searched for "Journey into Paradise" on the MusicBrainz site, found http://musicbrainz.org/release/5434dc4a-8faf-4c2b-9d5c-0dd5efc7eb32 and associated the disc ID with CD 1 of that release. I clicked the "Query" button in Max and the correct CD information was filled in.

I did the same for CD 2 (submitted disc ID, searched for "Journey into Paradise") except this time I chose to associate the disc ID with CD 2 instead of CD 1. The disc ID of CD 2 is S4e_8A4LD_2Csyh6aY5aSAD9TPw, and judging by http://musicbrainz.org/release/5434dc4a-8faf-4c2b-9d5c-0dd5efc7eb32/discids it looks like associating this disc ID with CD 2 did work. However, when I use the Query button in Max then it fills in the details for CD 1.

Perhaps Max isn't compatible with MusicBrainz multi-CD releases?

I was initially using Max 0.9.1. I have tried upgrading to Max r1438 and re-querying MusicBrainz with CD 2 in the drive, but the details for CD 1 are still retrieved.

I can confirm this behaviour with Max 0.9.1 as well as with r1438. CD 1 works fine, but with disc 2 onwards Max retrieves the descriptions for CD 1. This is the case even for items that are already in the Musicbrainz database (so the description above about submitting disc IDs may not be relevant).

Here is a specific example. Putting disc 2/4 in the optical drive, Max fails to retrieve the description. Pressing "Query" populates the information fields with the descriptions from disc 1 (note that all 4 discs have 10 tracks). Trying to "Submit Disc ID" leads to the correct Musicbrainz page: http://musicbrainz.org/cdtoc/attach?id=_k2WCCo1viNkwhLa.NvsShuIYgk-&tracks=10&toc=1+10+334013+150+27415+62965+88614+117835+154785+185035+208878+253486+296657
so this isn't a case of duplicate IDs or a send-side bug.

Perhaps the recent Musicbrainz redesign also changed the way multi-disc items are presented to clients?
