Bug Description
When transcoding 12 files from FLAC to MPEG AAC VBR (256 kb/s) using Core Audio librairies, each file has a fixed (constant) bit rate, but this bit rate varies from file to file (275 kb/s to 301 kb/s). This is not VBR!

2 GHz Intel Core Duo, Mac OS X 10.5.8, Max 0.9.1.with Perian 1.4 installed, if that could be an issue
Minor Interface bug: When setting Quality in the Formats Pref Pane all values are ticked. You have to cycle through each of the possible values for a correct display of the choosen value. Note: using French localisation. App was closed preference trashed and issue still present after relaunching Max.
