Bug Description
First thing first, sorry for the title (sound lame), but I couldn't come up with a better name.
Anyway, here is what I mean:
1) Open Marlin and Nautilus
2) Press Ctrl+L in both, so you can enter in "path bar edit mode"
3) What happens in Marlin is (see the top part of the screenie) and what happens in Nautilus is (see the bottom part of the screenie)
4) While Marlin's pathbar looks much better in "edit mode", it is still not as usable as nautilus one, cuz:
A) One can't delete just a single symbol from the path (for example, let's say I've typed: "/usr//share/unity" instead of "/usr/share/
B) One can't do stuff like copy the path in the clipboard
C) One can't paste an already copied path
D) I could be missing something, but this are enough reasons
What I am suggesting is that Malrlin should also have the ability to use either the current implementation of the "pathbar edit mode", or the "full text edit mode pathbar"
U can use the left arrow key and the breadcrumbs transform u can edit a fullpath too. The pathbar is a bit bugged in edit mode it need some real work and its workflow is not achieved. ctrl + l should edit the full path mode directly, there s a bug open for that.
But yes i agree the pathbar in edit mode is a bit lame actually. In the end this pathbar would allow to filter and|or search from the the current directory and|or go to a location from this same unique widget. Making thoses functionalities co-exist is a same unique widget is a bit of a challenge ;)
