The link in automatic generated mail when a page is shared is relative. But to get the right page it has to be absolute.

I think this is a problem with your setup. Normally, absolute URLs are displayed in notifications.

I'm guessing you are using Mahara 1.4? There was a patch released for bug #891916. It is available in Mahara 1.5 and up.
If you would like to just patch your Mahara with this patch, you can get it from here.
