Bug Description

Apparently, Mac OS Ventura update breaks gfortran version control, so that installations done with conda or port do not work.
Users should follow the suggestions in https://stackoverflow.com/questions/74192735/gfortran-cannot-match-macos-ventura-version and reinstall gfortran using brew:

brew install gcc

I'm not sure if the problem affects also gfortran compiled from source.
