N810 device keyboard does not work in Mer

Bug Description
When Mer is started in the Hildon desktop, the user cannot advance past the new user wizard because the on-screen keyboard is not displayed and the device keyboard does not work. If cancel or ok are hit without entering any users, then an error is presented to the user which results in the user being returned to the wizard screen.
