package lxdm 0.2.0-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

I uploaded a possible fix in my PPA : https://launchpad.net/~gilir/+archive/unstable/ (lxdm version 0.2.0-0ubuntu2~ppa1). Could someone test with an upgrade to see if the bug is gone with this PPA ? Thanks.

I sorted my 404 errors with the PPA, but I'm afraid your new version doesnt change things...

If you make "/etc/alternatives/lxdm.conf" a simbolic link of "/etc/lxdm/default.conf" it will work:

- sudo ln -s /etc/lxdm/default.conf /etc/alternatives/lxdm.conf

Hi, if someone could provide additional information on how to test the PPA, I could try it.

Thanks for the tests, I also tested again and have the same result. For now, no need to test more, I'll try to find another fix.

i followed the tip from

sudo ln -s /etc/lxdm/default.conf /etc/alternatives/lxdm.conf

but I had to

sudo /etc/alternatives/lxdm.conf

first

then worked fine

sorry i meant
sudo rm /etc/alternatives/lxdm.conf

A way to combine the rm and ln is to execute:
sudo ln -s -f /etc/lxdm/default.conf /etc/alternatives/lxdm.conf
I tried this.

How can I tell if the problem is resolved. I see that the latest problem
report mentioned that lxdm is not a ubuntu package.

removed lxdm package from system. Perhaps this problem should be resolved/closed.

Another update from my PPA (my PPA : https://launchpad.net/~gilir/+archive/unstable/ , lxdm version 0.2.0-0ubuntu2~ppa2) should fix the problem. Can someone upgrade and see if it's still an issue ?
