Bug Description
1. Large quantity of earned bombs better to show like in picture I attach, 'cause they are don't fit in the screen.
2. Why there in PAUSE mode 'Press p to play or pause'? I think better will be 'Press p to play'.
3. From other side - in menu Pause DON'T have shortcut (I add that in red color on picture)
4. Maybe bombs should be bombs instead of white circles? :) I could paint some SVG's or what format is using.

1. Your idea is good.
My original idea is that you don't need a symbol (like x7), you just show the resources as they are. This way you can get a good feeling for the number without reading a number (It's a lower-level brain activity, probably doesn't require you to focus on the pile of resources.) I wonder if it would just be better to compress the resources when there are too many.
2. I wanted to help the user to start the game, but also tell them how to pause it, right from the beginning.
3. I would add that shortcut if I could understand the gtkmm documentation for menus!
4. I don't really like the idea of bombs in the game, I prefer the abstract ones. I'd like to keep the violence to a minimum! (In a previous version of this game I had proper Pink Panther type round, shiny black things with fuses, but I changed my mind!)
I will think about these again -- meanwhile I'm still working on how to get those PO files generated for you!
