Reinstalled Linux Mint 12, now printer duplex problem

Bug Description

I reinstalled Mint 12 today to resolve problem with "no logon sound" which is now resolved BUT my problem now is that my Epson Stylus Business BX525WD all-in-one will not print in duplex as it had been doing with the same linux driver which I had previously downloaded from the Epson site. Why?
I noticed that after installing Mint 12 today that I received 358 updates including a Level 1 Mintupdate ver 4.3.8 .
I am relatively new to Linux. Have Ubuntu 11.10 and have no problem printing in duplex with the same driver.

Tadhg, can you update if you still have this issue or not? For help with getting your printer driver working, consider posting a support request on http://forums.linuxmint.com/.

I don't know Tadhg, but I have a similar problem. I have an Epson printer, WF-3520, Linux Mint 12 updated to 13 (although uname -a now says it's ubuntu and not Mint at all, so I'm not sure about the version, hmmm.)

This is a new printer, I didn't have it with an older mint, so I cannot comment on it working before. But when printing from LibreOffice I cannot get the duplex setting, chosen in the print dialog, to go to the printer. My wife tells me it doesn't do draft mode either.

BUT: I found that if I try to print a PDF, i.e. not printing from LibreOffice, then it works fine. Also works when printing a web page from Firefox.

So I don't think it's a bug in Mint or in the Epson driver, I blame LibreOffice. It looks like LibreOffice allows the user to select options for the printer, but does not know how to pass them on to the printer!
