Bug Description

After installing Linux Mint 11 RC form the "CD no codecs (64-bit)" neither the links to install multimedia codecs or the DVD files nor any other application invoking apt (synaptic/update manager/software manager) succeeded, they all threw the error: invalid source file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/local-repository.list: malformed line 1 "deb file:///usr/share/local-repository katya" (dist parse).

I was able to restore functionality by replacing this (only) line within this file with
"deb file:///usr/share/local-repository/binary/ /"
which I believe is the correct one, and running the update-repository script there.

Adding the / did not solved the problems for me. Apt complains that the binary-amd64 directory is missing.

@Bernd Schoeller:

Did you really replace " katya" with "/ /"?

No - I added the / at the end, so it was "katya /"

Just as it was not clear from my post: yes, made the mistake in not properly reading your fix, thanks for the hint. :-)

Thanks. I just had the same problem, and adding '/' worked for me.
