Bug Description
After installing Linux Mint 11 RC form the "CD no codecs (64-bit)" neither the links to install multimedia codecs or the DVD files nor any other application invoking apt (synaptic/update manager/software manager) succeeded, they all threw the error: invalid source file /etc/apt/
I was able to restore functionality by replacing this (only) line within this file with
"deb file://
which I believe is the correct one, and running the update-repository script there.

Adding the / did not solved the problems for me. Apt complains that the binary-amd64 directory is missing.
