It happens also in the stable release of Linux Mint 11.

Tested it from a USB stick, on real, not virtualized hardware.

No crash was announced or evident, but all the plugins became disabled after disabling the desktop wall plugin (and also all their preset options).

Also, after the event, the workspace switcher plugin would exhibit only one desktop, although it was set to show a 2x2 matrix.

This could not be fixed by enabling the same number of desktops from compiz manager. I was then able to access other virtual desktops only by using the expo plugin, which showed the correct number and structure of desktops.

Another weird occurrence was the appearing of a blank window, without content (it was all a solid block with the texture of the gtk theme), with it's name containing "unity" (can't remember the exact name). Using xkill on it would restart all compiz and also the same window. Disabling the window manager plugin from within compiz would make it disappear, together with the window decorations of normal windows.
