Bug Description
Release: Linux Mint Debian Edition 32-bit (latest updates installed, as of 19/01/2011)
Linux Mint LXDE Edition 32-bit + Metacity (instead of Openbox) (latest updates installed, as of 19/03/2011)
(Well, actually, all Linux Mint editions. ...)
With the Mint-X theme active, menu bars don't look properly in Terminal (gnome-terminal) and Pidgin. I've traced this back to lines 1186-1188 in /usr/share/
widget_class "*TerminalWindo
widget "*<PurpleMain>" style "gradient-menubar"
widget "*tmw-menubar" style "gradient-menubar"
The problem disappears if those 3 lines are commented out.
What happens: the menu bar is lighter than the lower gradient color of the title bar, if that makes sense.
What should happen: the menu bar should "continue" the title bar's gradient.
I encountered this problem twice already; in fact, I posted the above workaround on my blog (http://
