Bug Description

Using Linux Mint 10 Julia 32bit.

After installing k9copy v2.3.5 from the repos, although it installs two entries (as expected) in the menu system under 'Sound & Video', neither menu entry 'k9copy' nor 'k9copy assistant' will launch the application. I am unable to find any error reported in any log.

The application can be run perfectly either from the command line 'k9copy &' or by making a short cut on the desktop.

This application functions correctly under Ubuntu 10.10.

Thank you for reporting this bug!

This issue has to do with the way the menu entries are written in -- k9copy (seemingly) takes KDE and QT options which are not recognised. You can get k9copy to launch from the mintMenu by going to the entry, right-clicking on it, and selecting "Edit properties." The command line will look like ' k9copy -caption "%c" %i %m %u ' which does not work. If the command is reduced down to simply ' k9copy ' the program will launch file. Do not copy the single quotes into the command. :)

For now this will be the fix unless a decision is made to make a patch to the postinst of the package for LM (We will have to see how the behaviours work on Mint KDE as well before making a final decision).

Thank you again for letting us know about this!

Kind regards

Justin

I am running Mint 10 32bit and I made the change you recommend, but that did not solve my problem. I can, however, launch the application from the terminal with 'k9copy ' our 'k9copy --assistant' and it works.

Any other ideas to solve this issue?
