Bug Description
In Linux Mint 9, when returning my dell Latitude D600 from the suspend state, I get a blank screen and the fan running. No actions will return the system to operational. My only choice (that I know of) is hold down the power button to force a shutdown and then reboot. The system will reboot normally except Networking (wifi) must be manually turned back on.
Mint 9 has worked without a problem other than Suspend never working. I did a clean install from Mint 7 and Suspend worked fine in Mint 7.
I don't know if this is a Lucid or Mint 9 issue and also do not know what other information I need to include with this report. Please advice. Thank you.

I have a similar problem but instead, I get the following error:
GLib-WARNING**: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (0)
getpwuid is the method that gets the username, password and all that jazz (http:// linux.die. net/man/ 3/getpwuid_ r) and the error 0 means that the username that was delivered could not be found. I am going to take a look deep into the code to see if the issue is just a missing user account or if the id can be changed to something we already have set. I have a feeling this problem is within X.org itself, because if I do Ctrl-Alt-F7, I can get the GUI back, but nothing works properly anymore.
