Bug Description
About 1 month ago I got display corruption. Everything else was OK. It was in graphics mode only. Applies also to a newly started instance of X, eg 3 lots of X windows running together (but started with 1). There was lots of flashing corruption when GPU did updates to the screen. It was not fixed by restarting X. Was fixed by poweroff.
It appears to be a bug in the version of fglrx used with Mint.
A different but similar version of this happened one or two times more.
1. Cinnamon Mint 17, not using Cinnamon, but running the Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE).
2. Use the computer with fglrx for days (may require months, may have gone away, may depend what applications are run).
3. Display corruption as above.
4. Normal display.
5. Happened 2 or 3 times. Since then I've been trying to avoid things that "might" cause it..
I also notice that after a reboot, cycling through the tabs in konsole (by holding down the next or previous tab keys) is *extremely* fast, and redraws all the text in each virtual console as it goes, resulting in an extremely fast slideshow of the content of those consoles. After several hours of using the computer, if I do it again, it no longer redraws much of the text, as if the hardware acceleration of the text redrawing has slowed down.
