Displays "AC adapter" when hovering muose arrow over battery status even when charger is not connected

Bug Description
I am using HP 1b10au notebook with AMD a4 dual core processor 3300mx, 2gb ram, linux mint 17.1
The problem occured after updating linux mint from 17 to 17.1
Whenever I hover the mouse arrow over the battery status applet at below right corner of the screen, it earlier used to display remaining time on battery, when the notebook was on battery power, but after updating it to 17.1, it constantly displays "AC adapter" even when the charger is not connected.
