Bug Description
Mint 16RC Cinnamon edition
In general:
In Nemo, you can select multpile files with the keyboard, using the arrows and Ctrl key. When you select the first file (with mouse or keyboard - doesn't matter) and hold control, you should use the arrows to select the next file. When you move around there should be a dotted line, showing the current file. This line is missing in the 16RC. Please check this screenshot in the attachment.
Exact steps to reproduce the issue:
1. Open Nemo
2. Select a file. It doesn't matter if you use the mouse or the keyboard.
3. Hold down the Ctrl key.
4. Without releasing the Ctrl key, use any of the arrow key.
At this point you should see a dotted line, showing which file will be selected if you press space (as on my screenshot), but this dotted line is not there. You can use space, to mark a file and it will work. However without the dotted line it is really hard to navigate when there are a lot of files.
I can reproduce this bug each time. I use the default Cinnamon theme from 16RC. If you need any more information - I am happy to cooperate.
Tsvetomir
This also happens using Unity with the Ambiance and Radiance themes since 15.04 betas. Still happening as of 16.04, using Nemo or Nautilus.
Maybe something changed upstream with the defaults and some themes are missing definitions for this situation?
Is selecting items with Ctrl+Arrows such a rare thing nowadays?
