Bug Description
When selecting print to file the window comes up with default filename and the default print location of /home/{user}. When selecting other from the drop down menu, the user is prompted with a browsing window. When I browser to the folder I want and click "Open", the Print to file window updates to the proper location and then allows me to print it to file. (PDF) The problem is it prints to /home/{user} instead of the selected location.
The solution is not go into the folder you want to print it in, when in the Browsing window. Instead, from the parent folder, select the folder you want and click open. This updates the Print to file properly and prints to the correct location.
A suggestion to this whole process is to retain the last folder selected so the user can print multiple pages without having to go through the selection process over again.

Thanks
I'm also seeing this on Kubuntu 13.04. I also hit this bug when selecting one of my "favourites" directly from the print dialogue box (i.e. without opening the file browser window). As the original report, in this case, files also are saved to ~. As per the report, selecting via the file browser window works.
Also, when opening up a new print dialogue box, the previous selection appears not to be respected. The pop-up where the directory is selected is blank. This appears to be a regression, as previous version worked, both in saving to the correct location, and saving the previous directory. I can't quite recall when I first saw this issue. It may have been in the update to 13.04.
